Clove

Clove tree is a tropical evergreen tree, which produces flower buds. The cloves are unopened buds of this tree. Cloves have a very pungent aroma, and its flavor is both sweet and spicy, which is why it is used in savory as well as sweet dishes. They are an important part of many ethnic dishes in South Asia.
