Ponni Boiled rice

Ponni is a rice hybrid developed by the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in 1986. It is mainly cultivated along the banks of the Kaveri river (aka Cauveri or Ponni) in Southern India. It is the favourite and most preferred rice variety in Tamil Nadu and also chosen by many other South Indian communities around the world.
